Kids Cafe
In 1989, America's Second Harvest Food Bank of Coastal Georgia opened the first soup kitchen in the nation exclusively for children. Four years later, America's Second Harvest, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, officially launched a national program called Kids Cafe.
Kids Cafe is now the nation’s largest charitable meal service of its kind. America's Second Harvest food banks operate nearly 1,000 Kids Cafes in more than 50 U.S. cities. They are located in safe, convenient environments, and most of the children arrive by bike or on foot with friends.
In eastern Massachusetts and New York City, The Greater Boston Food Bank and the Food Bank For New York City partner with after-school programs to provide hot, nutritious meals and nutrition education to disadvantaged children in an environment that is safe, accessible and convenient. Olivia's Organics supports both of these programs with monetary donations and Olivia's Organics produce. In fact, in Boston, the children at Kids Cafe eat donated Olivia's Organics products every day!
