The Grey House
The Gray House is a small neighborhood human service agency serving the people of Springfield, Massachusetts. The Gray House offers programs to the people of their community that provide for their civic, social and educational needs. Established in 1982, the mandate of the original founders of Gray House is that "The Gray House is place where peace is lived and learned and hope is shared."
Currently, the Gray House operates four primary programs to assist their recipients in transition. These four programs are: Food Pantry, Thrift Store, Adult Education and Kid's Club. The people of Gray House have dedicated themselves to a relentless pursuit of their mission:
"Our mission is to encourage our neighbors in transition to achieve a more stable, safe, productive and spiritually satisfying life through education and community service."
Olivia's Organics is proud to support the Gray House's Kid's Club programs which include after school and summer camp services. The After School Program serves children ages 7 to 11 years. These children, the majority of whom live within a quarter mile radius of the Gray House, are able to flourish in a safe and caring environment. The After School Program of Gray House offers games, arts and crafts, homework assistance, reading assistance and field trips to local and regional areas of interest.
The Summer Camp Program also serves children ages 7 to 11 years. These children have the opportunity to travel throughout Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. The Summer Camp Program of Gray House offers educational field trips, stimulating activities and violence prevention programs.
